The Lies That are Keeping You Stuck in Cycles of Pain, Migraine, Gut Issues, Fatigue, & Weight Loss Resistance

“I could never give up chocolate.  I could never give up wine.  I could never go plant-based.”

I said all three, more than once, with total conviction.

If you're nodding along right now, I'm not here to argue with you.  I'm here to tell you what's actually behind that sentence.

It's not the chocolate, it's not the wine, and it's certainly not the cheese.

It's a belief, and beliefs are the one thing standing between where you are and healing that you can start working on today.

For me, those foods weren't just food.

They were comfort after a long day.

They were connection at the dinner table.

They were part of how I relaxed, celebrated, and showed up socially.

Letting go of them felt less like a diet change and more like losing a piece of myself.

But here's what I didn't understand back then:  a limiting belief is a story your mind repeats to keep you safe, not a story that keeps you healthy.  Your nervous system doesn't know that wine is feeding your inflammation or that dairy is triggering your migraines.  It only knows that wine and cheese are familiar.  And familiar feels safe, even when familiar is what's hurting you.

So why do we hold on so tightly?  Sometimes it's emotional comfort, sometimes it's identity, sometimes it's the social fabric of family dinners and holidays.

None of that makes you weak.  It makes you human.

But it's worth asking:  is it actually serving the woman you're trying to become, or just the woman you've always been?

Alongside “I could never,” there's a quieter belief that keeps us just as stuck:  this is just how I am.

The 3pm crash, the bloating, the tension headache that never fully leaves.

We stop calling it a symptom and start calling it Tuesday.

Our bodies adapt around dysfunction to keep functioning, and that adaptation quietly gets mistaken for identity.

I've watched this shift firsthand with a couple of my most recent clients this year.

We will call the first P... P had accepted her afternoon energy crash as just part of getting older.

The other we will call J... J had lived with digestive pain and bloating for so long, she genuinely believed that was just how her stomach worked.

Neither needed extremes.  A few sustainable changes later, P's energy held steady through the afternoon, and J's stopped planning her outfits around bloating.

Here's what nobody tells you about the other side of “I could never” and “this is just how I am”:  it's not restriction.  It's relief.

Energy left over for your kids at the end of the day.

Waking up without the fog.

A migraine-free week.

I didn't feel deprived when I finally let go.  I finally felt free.

But there's an honest part of this too.

Right alongside the relief, there's often a flash of regret.

Why didn't I do this sooner!?

I've felt it, and I've heard it from P, from J, from almost every woman I coach once the good stuff starts happening.

It's real, and I won't pretend it isn't.

But later is still so much better than never.

The time is going to pass either way.

The only question is whether you spend it stuck, or spend it on the other side of this belief.

If you've been telling yourself “I could never,” I'd love for you to join me for the Vitality Reset, a free 7-day experience starting September 14th.

Registration is open now, and it's where we start doing this belief work together, before we ever talk about food.

You're not stuck because you lack discipline.  You're stuck because a belief has been standing guard at the door.

See you there!
